What it means: A light, affectionate goodnight that invites you both to settle in for a cozy night's sleep and to dream something silly
When to use it: When you're heading to bed together or saying goodnight from apart, and want something warm and playful

When to use it: Use at the end of a first date or a good conversation when you want to show there's a next time in mind without pinning down when.

After a date, pair your goodnight with one thing you enjoyed. That is more personal than a line pasted on its own.
For a partner, add a small reference only the two of you would understand.
A goodnight can simply be a goodnight. It does not need a question that restarts the whole conversation.
